Soul Surfer – Stirred my Soul

Just watched "Soul Surfer" with family. Wow!

The passion and feisty spirit of Bethany Hamilton is really inspiring. I’ve always wanted to learn to surf, but this makes me want to sell everything and move to Hawaii now! California would do nicely too!

But there is a lot more to the movie than surfing. The thing that really grips my soul is her passion for life. She had that passion from an early age, and was encouraged by a supportive family and good friends. In the wake of a tragic event where she lost her arm, she didn’t give up. It may sound cliché, but I found this story especially touching.

My life doesn’t include competitive surfing (yet), but her zeal for life is a shot of adrenaline, reminding me to make the best of this short time we have on earth. This world is an amazing place, and the people in it even more so!
